The Selmer Zodiac, power transformer. The original power transformer for this amp had failed long ago. An earlier repair resulted in removal of the valve rectifier, which was replaced by a solid state diode bridge. The amp sounds and feels a lot better with a GZ34 valve rectifier. So to enable reinstatement of the GZ34, and to enhance reliability, we commissioned a special heavy duty replacement power transformer for this amp. The original design was a bit marginal for reliability by today’s standards. So a tougher alternative was needed.
